New Zealand is back in lockdown

So here we go, another lockdown here in New Zealand. Currently there are 21 cases of the delta variant in our lovely country with this number likely to increase.

In terms of everyones reactions, I have heard mixed opinions. Some of my friends and family are shocked and again frustrated that they cannot go and get their favourite takeaways or see their friends at the bar.

Let’s be honest though, us in NZ are pretty lucky having gone for about 150 days without any more lockdowns. I mean people from all over the world are desperate to fly here and get a house in order to have a safe haven while the rest of the world burns and suffers. It makes sense, as the longest we have ever been in a harsh lockdown is four weeks, with the levels sharply going down after that.

In terms of how I am feeling about it, I am oddly calm. Having changed careers in between the last lockdown and this one, my new job allows me to work from home. But if new business isn’t ready to sign on and be launched coming out of this current lockdown then there could be trouble. I must remember and force myself to do some prospecting.

I am currently staying with my girlfriend and her family. It is quite pleasant and we have all gotten closer over time. Especially spending the last lockdown with them. We have been watching a lot of movies and playing board games, along with having a drink at 5:00pm everyday, even Tuesdays.

We can only hope to that this doesn’t last and that we all come out of this a bit better than when we went in!
